Good questions
Waterline tile cleaning questions, answered.
Straight answers from the Aqua Doctor team. If you don't see your question, give us a call.
No. Bead blasting is done with the pool full. We work from the deck, and the media is captured as we go rather than ending up in the water.
No. The media is softer than the surface and the pressure is set for it. It lifts the calcium off; it does not etch the tile or the finish the way acid does.
Yes, with a finer, softer media and lower pressure than ceramic. Glass is the tile most often damaged by scraping and acid, which is why blasting is the right method for it.
Two to four hours for most pools, depending on the length of the waterline and how heavy the buildup is. Spas add time.
Phoenix water is hard, so it always returns. Most pools look good for a year or two. Keeping calcium hardness and pH in range slows it down, and we will tell you where yours sits.
It is priced by the length of the waterline or the size of the surface and how heavy the buildup is, quoted before we come out. Combining it with a leak check on the same visit saves a trip charge.
